It is easy to get used to being able to do your washing up when you want, so once there is a problem with the dishwasher, you will want to get things sorted out as soon as you can. Fortunately, dishwasher repair is something that a lot of people can carry out at home. So, you may be lucky and find that you can do this yourself. All the same, you also need to accept that there could be times when the damage is so bad that a repair technician is required.
Control panel
When it is the control panel that has the problem, the good news is that you should be able to sort this out on your own. It tends to be one of two things that will be wrong:
Both issues should take minutes at the most to fix, and you will see that dishwasher repair is not always something that you have to pay for.
Electrical problems
First, plug in the dishwasher to make sure that it has been correctly put in place. If it is not pushed in properly, it will not work. If it now works, you have solved the issue; if it does not, then you can try something else. Put a different item into the socket—if that does not work, it could be the socket, not the dishwasher. If it does work, try a third option. Find the breaker box and switch the kitchen's switch on if it has been turned off. If the switch was off, it will have stopped power from reaching the dishwasher. Try the reverse to check that this is what is needed.
Child lock
Firstly, look at the front panel and find the "Energy Saver Dry" button. Put pressure on the button for around 4 seconds and the light next to the pad should turn off. Let go of the pad if the light does go off. If this is what was causing the problem, the child lock will now be off, and you should be able to use the dishwasher as normal.
Having fixed the dishwasher, you should now have the confidence that you will be able to complete dishwasher repairs whenever there are issues with yours. Often, it is the things that are easy to fix that go wrong.
